The group show Beifang (by-catch) curated by Magic-Marc Haselbach aka Mark Wonder is dedicated to the theme of water. The title refers directly to the loose aim and interpretation of the topic by the participating artists. The cast of the exhibition is super secret (until opening) so it’s a form of Beifang too.

“shipping” is – after “wrapping” – the 2nd film accompanying the Church photo series. while the photo series deals with rural churches, it’s architecture and placement in the landscape, the films deal with christian faith in the United States. they represent a random, subjective view on how faith is lived and perceived, rather than trying to give an accurate overview on anything called Christian religious practice in America

transmissions [3569-16117-1-through-3569-22115-2] was selected to be shown at the Lift-Off Global Network sessions. The festival will be live on Vimeo On Demand for two weeks: 21 March – 04 April 2022. (1st Round, link will follow)
The first round is open to the general public, who rent the entire collection of films for the full duration of the fortnight. We will be collecting “votes” that will come from our marketing efforts and yours. Everyone must vote for both their favourite, and second favourite film (by writing in the comments section on the Vimeo page).
The winning short will receive an official selection for a live screening at Pinewood Studios next year AND a screening at Raleigh Studios, Hollywood during Los Angeles Lift-Off Film Festival.

a new film is in production. It‘s a follow up to the 2021 transmission-experimental-shortfilm.
Die 14 Filme der „Generally Not” – Reihe sind seit 2016 entstanden. Hintergrund war die Überlegung, dass nicht jeder Film sinnstiftend sein muss. Es ging und geht mehr um die Lust am und auf das bewegte Bild. Die Filme bauen eher auf Assoziationen auf, als einem Handlungsstrang zu verfolgen oder diesen auch nur ansatzweise etablieren zu wollen. Dementsprechend frei wurde mit Bildern bzw. dem Medium Film umgegangen.

In den Nuller Jahren gab es bei mir ein verstärktes Bedürfnis mit Super-8 zu arbeiten. Das hatte sowohl ästhetische als auch Kostengründe. Die Mischung aus beidem machte das ganze magisch. Vor diesem Hintergrund sind Filme zu den Kurzgeschichten: „Entschlüsse“, „Wunsch, Indianer zu werden“, „Der Fahrgast“, „Großer Lärm“ und „Heimkehr“ von Franz Kafka entstanden.

Der Film „Grauzone“, der im Anschluss an die 5 Kafkafilme läuft, ist eine persönliche Heimkehr, nach Frankfurt (Oder), wo in den Nuller Jahren ein massiver Rückbau von Wohnraum stattfand. Es ist ein Beobachten, eine Bestandsaufnahme, eine Rückkehr an den Ort der Kindheit.

Es darf banal sein. Manchmal zelebriert ein Film die Poesie der Leere. Es gibt merkwürdige Situationen und Szenen die man auf alle Fälle kennt. Life in General ist Stehenbleiben, Zuschauen, die Situation einfangen. In 5 Jahren sind so 170 kleine Filme entstanden die hier aneinandergereiht erstmals vollständig gezeigt werden.
